Current Graduate Student Opportunities

Update April 2009 -

We recently advertised two graduate student positions in our lab, either MS or PhD positions to join our team as part of the Near Shore Ecology project in Grand canyon.  Over 60 outstanding applicants applied for these positions.  If you were one of these applicants, we appreciate your interest in our lab and in taking the time to apply for the positions.  After extensive discussions among academic and agency cooperators related to opportunities for graduate research associated with this project, we have decided to recruit two MS students for this project to begin in 2009.  Additional students may be recruited in later years.

Applicants that were given strong consideration for this project had a combination of interests in quantitative ecology, fisheries management, and /or experience working in remote field locations on large field projects.  Applicants who also met the admissions requirement of the Department of Wildlife Ecology and Conservation (GPA > 3.3 and GRE Scores > 1200) also scored highly in our ranking.

Employment Opportunities

We currently do not have any openings in our lab.  Due to modifications to our budgets related to the Near Shore Ecology Project in Grand Canyon, we were unable to hire a permanent staff position to support the project.
