I am from Augusta, Georgia. I received my B.S. in Fisheries Management and Forest Environmental Resources from the University of Georgia's Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources in Fall of 2004. I have worked in a variety of fisheries positions which have included hatchery, lab, and field work. While in school, I worked on the Altamaha River in Georgia on a telemetry and population estimate project dealing with both Atlantic and Shortnose sturgeon. I worked at the school hatchery in Cohutta, GA rearing Lake sturgeon and Siberian sturgeon. I also helped out with the Robust redhorse restoration efforts on the Oconee river. After graduating, I spent 4 months working with Lake sturgeon on the Muskegon river in Michigan with UGA, and then 6 months working on two trout projects on the White river system in Arkansas with the University of Arkansas Co-op Unit. I started at the University of Florida in February 2006. My M.S. project involves examining the spawning movement and site selection of Gulf sturgeon on the Apalachicola river. I enjoy fishing, hunting, sports, photography (a few of my pictures to the left), cars, gardening, history, building fishing rods, and restoring old outboard engines.
